Yippee! I loves pancakes, me.
This will be the first year we've used our own eggs, too :)
And although my efforts to grow lemons this year went a bit wrong, we've got lots of passion fruit.
Double YUM!

I thought they were called chicks and that the term hen is for birds over a year old?

Nowadays, chick is the correct nomenclature for newborn gallus gallus although they used to be referred to as chickens. Females that haven't laid are pullets and once they pop their first egg they're officially a hen (usually at between 8-12 months depending on breed). Not sure when a chick becomes a pullet mind you.
I won't go on to talk about the males for fear of upsetting the swear filter :o

I bought some Betty Crocker 'shake and make' pancake mix, although I doubt I'll ever get round to using it, I can't be bothered tonight - I'm a terrible shopper.

My point was-- by personally following our traditions in your own home you CAN lead the fightback against all these PC plonkers:mad:
Neapolitan--sorry Robbie got the spelling wrong there--sadly its from the Co-op.

That reminds me when I went to Center Parks for a family holiday. THere was a place called the Pancake house and my favourite one was call Night and Day.
It had loads of dark and white chocolate sauce with chocolate and white chocolate ice cream. :D:D:D
But as it's ash wednesday, I will be having mine tonight as I was busy earning some money yesterday. lol.

At last night's quiz, when I first welcomed everyone, I said something like "Welcome to the George on this shrove Tuesday, and I hope you've all had your pancakes. I didn't have any, because I can't cook - not even pancakes! Yes, I know that's really sad. Anyway, tonight is quiz night....."
A little later, when I was going round & chatting to everyone, a woman I know quite well from one of my regular teams offered to make me some pancakes next week & bring them with her, so all I'd have to do would be to put them in the microwave...and I'm pretty sure she was being serious!
:D :D :D :D :D
