I only watched the second half, but from what I saw, Gerrard deserved the man of the match. I think he is undervalued by you lot. I know he has had a few quiet performances, but tonight he was instrumental to the win. You have to watch his off the ball movement too to appreciate what he does, the guy is the best player you have at the moment, first name on the team sheet IMO.
For the first game in charge, Capello has already massively improved the team, in such a simple way. The passing and possession in the second half was a joy to watch, and I think that will be the fundamental key to the inevitable success of this team.

after the team did a few icebreaking excersises at half time ie........ kick the ball to the people in the red shirts , the second half was much more productive ....
i completely agree with beerfunks comments on Stevie G.

Man of the match for me was....J.Cole....great all rounder....like the way he goes at defence.
Close second was W.Rooney and D.Bentley.......IMO
Oh yeah, and what on earth was James doing at the end......

So I thought a captain was there to organise the troops….didn’t see much of that for the first 30 minutes…
Yes, S.Gerrard had a good game but not man of the match……come on….ref!!

I assumed you didn't mean Reading, as they have their gubbing from Everton to come later on (even without Yakubu)

No, my under 8s team, who are doing considerably better than Reading..:(
And I think you're right. You know you're in trouble when you get beaten by Bolton at home.

Apparently Capello is determined to win every game, friendly or not, and I'm not so sure Spain will treat the game in the same manner. In saying that, Spain are unbeaten in 28 games, winning 26 of them, so I'll go for a narrow Spain win.
