Hi all,
On Saturday 23rd February I have been booked to do a 50th birthday party in a marquee. It is a themed night and that theme is Hawaii Five-O, now that's not a problem as I have that. The thing is, this is a big budget function and they are going all out to make it as good as possible. They are getting in a Hawaii style bar and grill etc as well as putting in sand and palm trees etc..
I am booked from 7.30pm - 2.00am with background music from 7.30pm - 9.00pm. What I need is a CD of Hawaii style music but I am lost as to what to get. You know the type of music I mean, the one that sounds like it's being done on a slide guitar (I'm humming it now to try and get the point across but you obviously can't hear me....hahaha!). Does anyone know of anything like this? I don't know where to start or what to search for in I-Tunes etc.
The customers know that it may be hard to find this stuff and understand that if it comes to it then the background music will be the usual background stuff I do but I want them to have what they really want. After 9.00pm it will be basically Indie, Chart and 60s 70s 80s 90s etc (I've had request lists sent already and it looks good). I'll also try to keep to the theme too and play summer stuff (even though it's the winter) like 'Walking on Sunshine', 'Hot Hot Hot', 'Bomboleo', 'Going Loco down in Acapulco', 'Macarena' etc etc
Any other song suggestions would be great but more importantly, I really need some advice on where to source the music for the background early on.
Thanks in advance as always guys.
