Does anyone rate Martin Audio speakers? Have you used any?

I know Rice used to run these but he blew the horns on the top set and from memory I believe couldnt get replacement parts.

I heard them a few years ago whilst they were still working and they sounded fine.

Soundtracker also uses them I think.

No, both of those use Martin Mach which are not made anymore and are generally a lot cheaper than Martin Audio.

MA are excellent speakers. Ask Danno.

I've had quite a few martin systems over the years and never had a problem, taking into account they supply most of the major pa companys plus pink floyd,supertramp,yes, ministry of sound & a host of other people I think you could say there ok

The martin mach's were never that good and I think they traded on the martin audio name a bit, (because it sounds almost the same) the horn drivers were always a bit of a let down because of the "mostly used " eminance drivers, change the drivers for either Beyma, RCF or B & C and the cabs are not that bad!

my school have recently got a sound system from martin audio. sounds really good and loud :) trying to get permission for a drum n bass and hardcore night to them to the test :D

Have a chat with Rob Beech on the ukslc.org forum, he knows everything there is to know about Martin Audio, Rob has (or had) W8 stacks, although IIRC he has recently gone Turbosound

Yup, I own a pair of F10s.. wouldn't swap them for the world. Nothing else (in the same price range) comes close in terms of quality and detail of sound, I remember when I first got them I spend days listening through all my music again!

And they don't half have some power for 10" speakers - I even ran them once with 4x18" subs and didn't have to run them at full pelt to keep up.

I also have a pair of EM15s on my surround sound system :D

Ahh they're the newer ones from mine (note the "+") I'm not sure exactly what they've changed but the grill is different and I heard they're supposed to be weatherproof for outside use.

Another point I forgot to mention. If you get MA speakers, you will notice the difference in using cheaper mixers, active crossovers, because the detail of the speakers will show up the "nastiness" that can be added along the way.

My M3 controller (which is Martin's EQ/Crossover/Limiter for use with the Blackline series) has just died and I've had to go back to a Behringer X-over and there's one hell of a difference!

Well as dan said they are the + version but dont forget to have a look around on flebay and other websites.

But if you want brilliant sound then you have to pay the price for them.

Martin Audio stuff is very well put together, sounds great - even with no processing on it and generally very loud for the size of the cabs.

We frequently use the EM15s for peripherals on installs and have 8 stacks of the larger WaveFront stuff. Excellent, would highly reccomend.
