The censor won't let me type which forum you qualify for. :p :p :D :D

Now this is probably akin to sticking your head in the lion's mouth, but has anyone else noticed how Darren's happy pills seem to be working really well lately? :D

PS As a founder member, I have to point out it's Excalibur

That's weird...

Must be a problem your end!

I'd rather people were pedantic than stupid, lazy or ignorant! Accuracy and professionalism have gone a long way to make the UK what it is now.

The trend of horrendous spelling, grammar, and just poor communication in general seems to be getting worse and worse, and it is worrying.

If health consultants typed or spoke in such a manner, people would die. If the military communicated on this level, we would all be either dead or speaking in another language.

Anyway, rant over - leave the pedants be! :D

A lifetime of effective criticism and correction of people and their affectations puts me in there. Or could have if they're to be believed from the incoherent scrawlings on their stationery made whilst they are stationary in their cars.

I think he would be referring to me, and I apologise for not highlighting his exclusion. :( :( In all honesty I felt that his inclusion would be a matter of course, and we would be able to welcome his arrival with suitable pomp an circumstance. :D :D

Guess I'll have to buy him two pints now, if his compass gets him to this little corner of God's County. Sorry I don't know any pubs which sell Fosters, though.:o :o :( :(

You come to the pedants forum with the blatantly misspelled 'pendant', and you think no-one will notice? It's like turning up at a mod convention in flares! :)

So, if this is a thread to invite members to the pedant forum, where is the pedant forum?
Can I try before I buy? No good if it's not pedantic enough. I'm not interested if it's going to be full of missing apostraphes and incorrect use of they're and their and there:D

Thank you for your opinion on the reason behind this thread, and on reflection believe you to be correct Sir.
I would be interested in such a forum. It would be a useful resource where fellow pedants could indulge themselves and have a bloody good moan about everyone else:p
