I wanted to know how stable they are and what sort of weight they take?

I wanted to know how stable they are and what sort of weight they take?

Not being rude Daz...but they don't look up to much...IMO

Do you know the weight of what's going on it.....i might be able to get some strees calc's done for it......:)

I would say max weight of about 40 kilos from the look of it. Guess based on thickness of tubing.

It's for my deck which is probably between 30-40Kg.

It does look a bit weedy hence my question.

Anyone got any alternatives?

I want something to stick behind the S&H booth when I'm in a small venue and don't need to set the whole winch and wheels stand up.

Yeah would agree with CB the giraffe stand is very tough I have a 6ft and a 4ft version and it takes my 60kilos decks unit with no problem. I would have thought that the 4ft version would be better for you though.

I don't really want something that I have to put together either - this is a time saving exercise.

Nothing to do with that my boy. I'm trying to work out a way of doing a quick rig if need be.

Talking of which, I've often thought about putting together a small system that would serve as..

A. a backup setup
B. a 'last minute'/'emergency' setup

ie. something that I could load quickly, drive to a venue, and have set up within about an hour.

I've been in the situation 3 times in the past 5 years where I've been asked to supply a disco at the very last minute, and have had to refuse because of the time factor. It is something I'd like to be able to do, but the need doesn't justify the cost really.

By the way, I haven't seen Jamie (LastMinuteDJs) on here for while... ?

The fact that it doesn't quote what weight it takes would concern me.

That suggests it's not as much as most people would expect/want it to be.

I'm not sure exactly, but at the very, it must be 2 hours.

Oh, well I can normally do it under an hour, although I think my record might be around 40 minutes to be set up and 'started'. It's hard to say really, I mean, from arriving at the venue, or after loading the equipment into the hall...?

Done it in 25 minutes once... alone. Small rig (thankfully) but still deckstand, starcloth, audio case (prewired TTF), amp, active sub, pair of speakers, 2 lasers, 2 stormbirds, 2 dynarolls, 1 impossibled, laserball, laptop with external hdd, radio mic, haze machine. And associated cabling.

Took me 3 days to get over it :o

I normally call setting up, loading into the hall and setting up.

Me too.:)
Also having a trailer is a big plus with the hook up and go thing going for it.
