A friend of mine came over to see me with his Toshiba hard drive.

I want to give him some personal vids of my recent events.

PROBLEM His HDD is password protected and he cant remember the password:eek:

Hasnt used it for a long time.

So we wasted 30 mins trying to work it out--and gave up.:(

Anyone know if its possible to open up the unit for use?

I assume it's an external drive? Is the data already on it important?

on some external hard drives you can. i have a 320gb home toshiba external drive but i have this feature turned off just incase i would forget it but i dont need to set one anyway.

Seems like it is just a feature on the toshiba series.
