19" - 11u rack.

I've had a quick scan on the search button and couldn't find anything...so i thought i would ask.....

I need a 19" - 11u rack....i've seen this http://www.djkit.co.uk/product.php?id=3369 and it seem OK....and at reasonable price...

3 questions really -
1 = Does anyone use one of these and what are they like?
2 = Will it hold 1 x DN-HD2500, 1 x Cortex HDC1000 and 1 x DN-X500? (I think so)
3 = Option is to build one myself - does anyone have any plans and list what to buy.....
4 = Anyone know where i can get a sliding draw for the keyboard? (I did see this on a previous thread but the item has vanished)

I use one of these (http://www.thomann.de/gb/rockcase_mix_bag_rc23811_b.htm) takes my HD2500, DN-X500 and 3U Stairville DMX controller plus a 1 U plate that I have fitted a mic connection in. I also have a 1U sliding tray in the bottom and an 8 way IEC switch unit.

11U, has reasonable protection and is lighter than a standard flight case, has approximately 3U available at the front with the HD2500 as the first item.

That's what i was thinking although the Cortex would sit at the front as it's a more shallow unit......i'm not sure.....:)

Been using mine for well over 6 months, the case is fine, all my gear is still like new, too heavy to play football with, but if you are the type that likes to bang your gear around then maybe something stronger will be required. I tend to look after my kit and that includes the cases and bags it is transported in. I always transport it on its side as that profile fits best in the boot. Although I regularly store it in the dining room with kit ( HP2S hazer, couple of light units and laptop case) on the top.

I doubt you'd be dissapointed.

Don't go to Thomann for the sliding keyboard draw as they are cheaper on Ebay!

If it was me i would have the main at the bottom, then the backup then the mixer.

Why would you have the backup in a more accessable place than the mixer? Doesn't make much sense to me!

Well for me just incase the denon did stop working you still need easy access to the backup. No offence to anyone but if your a shortish person you might find it a bit hard to read the LCD screen. Some screens you have to be directly above it to read it. As for the mixer you should know where all the buttons and slidders are anyway.

Also what happens if you move your arm up to the cortex and accidently move the slider if its not set to 10??? The music becomes very loud quickly and can cause shock to people.
