What lighting do you use and does any one have some pics an example..

Would like to see what is best lighting for Wedding first dance...

Does anyone one have any impressive ideas they wuld like to share,,thanks

Mirror balls are good, or scanners or moving heads set to slow with a subtle colour and gobo on, or even led pars set to a nice pink or purple.

Moonflowers on an open white slow rotation. And if i'm using scanners, all on pink with the "spots" all in a line. Like the photo on the front page of my website.

Two tone looks nice was thinking white scanner and the other set at re/pink set at low speed just want to make it look right.....

I also supply 3' balloon that i exploded showerin the contents of confetti and small 3" balloons now thats a money maker.......

Mirrorball(s) lit either by a couple of stationery moving heads or a pair of pinspot PAR36s.

Or a pair of datamoons on slow rotation.

I choose the colours to best match the colour scheme.

If I need a bit of reinforcement (eg. large dark room) I'll bring on a couple of LED PARs to an appropriate dim level in a complimentary colour.

Edit: Just realised we all assume a slowie... well my wedding first dance next weekend is the Timewarp :) Will probably put some faster lighting on methinks!

In most venues..
Would have a pink backwash..
Two tomahawks set to white.. non rotating.. moving with the music.

And then the two moving heads... white or blue... on the 'circle' gobo 'to give a tunnel effect'... witha slow rotating 3 angle prism in...
Slowly moving around the room and across the floor.

The beams from these look very very good and everyone comments on how lovely it looks. Depending on the rig the beams will normally pick up a small mirror ball at certain points.. which looks very cool too when it lights up

Fisrt dance for me is two iColour 4's on a slow spectrum mix. Lights the B&G up nicely for their first dance.

Photographer's always compliment it because it's nice and light for their photo's but creates a good effect as well.

And dmck... I don't.. normally the busy during that time so don't take footage.. too be honest I don't think it is a good idea to look at a video and base it on that.. you need to make your setup unique and adapt it to what you have available... not everyone will be able to use the pr250 15 channel moving heads that I use for example.

If that makes any sense.

I think now you have some ideas you should go and thinking about the kit you have / getting and think up something that you think will work for you and the discos that you do.

Most of the time the rig is high enough to be able to use them on full power, so yes. The light is shining down, rather than straight out into faces.

Prolight Nebula laser kind of does. Have a look at some of the demos and if you like the effect, then go and have a real life demo.

Thats red and green anyway i have the kam star cluster dont really thing thats good for a first dance.....

Now here's a controversial new idea - LED Bars...

I have bought 2 LEDJ Blockbuster 6 Bars to replace my 4 Robocolors. Lighter, and only 2 units to hang, one lead to connect as opposed to 4 units / 8 leads to the controller.

As well as running STL or DMX, there are various other programs - and yes, a slow fade between colours to give a wash effect.

Here's a video clip --> HERE (http://www.slingshot.uk.com/fd/photos/fdr_lights_feb08.wmv) <-- this was a tryout with all my lights (a bit overkill and here a bit manic as running STL) but shows how much wash effect you get; the kaleidos are discharge, and the whole lot was on a truss up on a stage.

I still don't like the look of them on the bar personally, but they do make a nice wash. The only problem is versatility - you can only position them in one place, whereas you can move pars around and position them where you want.

I usually have a Source Abyss on which is aimed at the ceiling. It gives that water effect and looks really relaxing and chilled. Either that or the Wildtech Hallucination on slow rotation on the floor so it looks like they are floating.
