How to clean faders?

Hya folks not sure if been asked before but whats the usual method for cleaning the faders on mixers?
How do you cure crackling noise (that comes from the speakers when using sliders)?
If they get a bit stiffer to operate (bit rough), what to use to clean them?

Switch cleaner.

Or WD40 if you're careful.

Air duster for small debris, switch cleaner for general clean up. replacement if they get to bad.

try servisol switch cleaner,( available from most electrical outlets, maplins, & even trago mills stock it. great stuff if used properly, i.e. follow instructions on tin . good luck mate. regards the duke

I wouldn't use WD40 as it's mineral oil based, although it may be OK to do so - I've not tried it.

A contact cleaner & lubricant can breathe new life into a worn fader, but be prepared to continue using it as it won't cure the underlying problem - wear.

Best solution is to replace the slider if possible.
