Iv had a look online and a few mags but im not to sure on what make eq to go for. i dont have a big budget but my maximum would be £150. I will spend a little more but only if its really worth buying.

Im re-doing my main rig so im going to use my current 3U eq for my studio and buy a new 1U eq to save space and keep the new rig small.

I have found only found this. I think it looks quite good but the price for one of these is about £180

If i had the space for a big eq then i would be ok but as its only 1U in size im not to sure what to for at all.

Any ideas???

Many thanks. :)

currently i use the behringer vmx1000 but this is soon to change be a spare mixer.

well i might aswell tell. :(

been thinking about it and after seeing your denon and poineer rig i want some of it too. just want to upgrade to better equipment as im thinking about being full time a lot. just want to prepare and start saving up now for the gear.

as for the mixer i would be going for the cheaper DN-X500.

as for the eq, i have always had one and i get at least one comment about how clear my sound is. i dont know if thats to do with the eq setup or just the speakers.

I reckon if you start using a slightly better range of equipment, you mmight not need the graphic, which is why I asked about your mixer.

ah. ok.

well i guess that saves 1U of space. i didnt see the point of buying the x900 as it has the digital inputs and i wouldnt need them tbh.

I agree that a separate eq shouldn't be necessary in order to get a clear sound...the eq on your mixer should do the job just fine.

A decent 1U eq is the DBX one (http://www.dbxpro.com/215/215.php) if you did want one.

Looks like a bullseye with easy/quick to use controls and a good price.:)

top man mr forgie.

tbh i was think dbx before anything as i saw somthing in studiospares but couldnt remember it.

i think its handy to have, even if you use it much but if you need a little more top end as a permement thing then an eq is better than ajusting your mixer every time. my opinion.
