We all have them - little things that you know shouldn't 'bug you', but the get on your nerves. Let's hear them. :D

OK, I'll start. This ones forum related but you can choose anything at all.

My 'bug' is this smilie --->   . It just comes over as such a negative image to me. It gives me a bad vibe whenever I see anyone use it. I've no idea why it grates on me so much but it does...lol.

Ok..over to you. What small things bug you?

Bouncers - good one! Some of them are really friendly, have a laugh with you and so on, but some of them are on a total power trip. They stand there like they're the Terminator, and ask you things like "where you been tonight?" - like it's any of their business. What are they hoping to hear, "well, we were in that club along the road there, but we got thrown out"?!

I'm normally very calm when driving, but the one single thing that always gets me to at least raise my voice, is when I'm approaching a roundabout, and someone looks as thought they are coming off so I can go on, but they don't indicate. Of course, I have to come to a complete stop because of this, as you can't go until you're 100% certain

Oh, and by the way, if there's anyone ever had any doubt over this - indicators don't mean a thing by the law of the road (been through insurance claims and even solicitors over that, so take it as gospel ;))

Ditto ............. and assistants in B&Q and Curry's who chat to each other and ignore customers. I walk out. The guy in my local corner shop is often on the phone the whole time I'm in the shop, including when I'm paying for my things. I just hand him my money, and he gives me my change, and he doesn't even acknowledge you at all! I actually don't mind though, strangely enough.

Oh yes, why can't they pull over to the side like anyone else. Or those that do pull it over to the side & then wander off to look at something else further down the aisle leaving their trolley immediately in front of what you want.

& they always moan when you move theirs to gain access to what you want / the rest of the aisle

.....You have been warned.....

:jawdrop:

There are drivers getting fined for throwing cigarette ends out of the window down here. Trouble is though, not enough!!! I followed at least 8 cars today who thought it was cool to throw there cigarette rubbish out the window. Why not add a few plastic bags, a nappy or two, maybe some KFC containers too!

God it winds me up, how inconsiderate and selfish some human beings can be.

[QUOTE=Silver;208402]Inconsiderate gits who think they have the God given right to pull out from a slip road on to a dual carriageway or motorway. They think (okay a strong word) that drivers in lane 1 will pull out into lane 2 just to let them in. NO! there could be traffic in lane 2, just wait, indicate, take your turn, be patient.

So it was you that wouldn't let me in the other day , to be honest if the cars coming on to the road put their foot down a little and the cars on the inside lane slowed a little, those problems would not occur :)

I don't really understand why people throw ciggy butts out of the car window.....when all cars have an ash tray.

When I smoked, I always used the ash tray...that's what it's for!

NO! The road system in the UK we use is that cars on the main road have right of way. What has crept in over the last few years is that people think that if they are joining a dual carriageway or motorway via a slip road, cars in lane 1 will automatically pull out into lane 2 to allow them to pull out, this is plain stupid.

Cars wishing to join the dual carriageway/motorway should wait until there is a sufficient distance between cars that would allow the driver to pull out into the main road without making drivers on the dual carriageway/motorway brake or accelerate to avoid a hazard.

I've done a police endorsed driving course, cars pulling out onto a dual carriageway SHOULD WAIT

And many smokers also seem to think it appropriate to dump empty cigarette packets, cellophane from new packets and all manner of smoking-related detritus besides. Of course these are the same smokers who complained the loudest when the work environment legislation came in :bang: "My smoking doesn't effect anyone, I should be able to smoke if I want to, yap, yap, yap...".
(Apologies to those genuinely considerate smokers on the forum.)

I'm with DiamondGeezer on this, oftentimes the slip-road people do this out of frustration because no-one will let them on. They shouldn't do it, but then people on the carriageway shouldn't speed up to stop them from getting on, either.

All that said if you guys want something to complain about come drive in Auckland. We are regularly rated amongst the worst drivers in the world (both my wife and I always comment on how courteous drivers in the UK are compared to here). I actually figured out what the problem with Auckland drivers was a while ago... most of us still drive like we're in a little country town, we don't adjust our way of driving to the necessities of big city/high volume traffic.

I'm no saint, but I regularly let people in, let pedestrians cross, wave thanks when people let me in, etc., etc. What goes around should eventually come around.

It is the right hand lane hoggers that winds me up to hell....
You get stuck behind them and they stick to the speed limit and you want to get past.... the left hand lane is clear but they still just sit there.... really winds me up, i sometimes have to flash the lights and make them move. Please tell me you're keeping a safe distance behind them? ;)

God it winds me up, how inconsiderate and selfish some human beings can be.One of my neighbours thinks it's OK to empty his car ashtray and rubbish (coke bottles, macdonalds bags etc) onto the roadside when he parks there. It's funny how these people are so easily stereotyped, with the junk food and everything. My Dad (lord only knows how he didn't get the part of Victor Meldrew) once swept it all up and put it on his bonnet, but it never stopped him dumping stuff again!

You're right though, the driver joining the main road should be the one doing most of the work to fit into the traffic.

It does annoy me when I slow down and flash someone on, and they still insist on joining the dual carriageway at 40MPH

The drivers who, when you have just got to the end of a single car section of road (due to parking on both sides) expect ME to reverse all the way back for them, despite there being space to pull over.

No way, if they don't pull to one side, I pick up my paper to read until they do. If they get noisy on the horn, I pick up the mobile phone and let them see me dialling.

Maybe because its now illegal to smoke in company owned vehicles if accompanied.

Or because prior to the law change many companies had no-smoking policies to avoid large bills from their lease hire providers when the vehicles were returned stinking like Gandhi's flipflop.

Or maybe because they're just dirty disgusting inconsiderate a-holes!

I've not noticed anyone do that.

However, everyone knows that the final decisions rest with you, Darren...so chill!

And people who

A: Tell me to chill,

That one really gets me too. I'm actually quite a chilled person anyway, and the one's who tell you to chill are the one's who are really getting your back up and are too stupid to realise......... and are the one's who really need to chill!!!
Any decent person would say "calm down, it's really not that big a deal.." or something similar when they see getting worked up.
The 'Chill' brigade are the one's who think what ever they're on about is a bigger deal than life itself......

See, I'm getting all worked up now and need to go and chill:p :D :D :D

To be honest I find the term 'calm down' more offensive than 'chill', but I find both equally offensive when being told to do so by the person who has caused me to be 'not chill' - I am, for the most part, extremely relaxed, sometimes to the point of comatosed.

The one that really gets me is 'It's All Good' :bang:

rob1963

Calm down, chill & relax are just different ways of saying the same thing.

I see no difference between the three in terms of offensiveness.
