Business cards, what you think?

Hi people,
I have been asked told to do myself some business cards which the local school will print off for me. But Im not the best at paintshop so what you think to these?

I havent come up with a business name yet so just using my name which really is D J longmore

They both print out clear and easy to read

The only reason I ask is because it makes you sound more like a club DJ - is that what you are looking to do?

The text could do with being moved away from the outer edges of the card a little.

Why don't you just take a trip to vistaprint.com a get your self some nice professional cards done and design them online?

I tried printing my own cards a while back and its just not worth the hassle as they are relatively cheap these days anyway.

I paid a little extra and got some really nice cards but the basics will just cost you around £3 (from memory) for postage.
The constant emails are a bit of a pain but every now and then they have some really good deals.

Either would look good with a glossy finish but would look tat as a matt finish... one more reason to get some 'proper' ones I think.

The only matt ones I've ever seen that look good are predominantly white.

Would also reccomend vistaprint. Just make sure you read the small print and not sign up to vprewards which will cost you £9.99 a month

Look OK. i own a printing company, but i would definitely go for vista print if on a budget. Keep the contact details in a normal font if i were you. what is dans garage? It looks like a mobile mechanics card! it might be worth getting a new email. Also list the situations you can supply - ie: mobile, parties, weddings etc. What are your strengths? sorry to be so critical.

I think you need to make it obvious at a glance what you do. So far the only giveaway is the lighting effect - you don't mention disco anywhere.

Also the font used is difficult to read. OK for your logo, but I'd use a clearer, possibly solid font for the contact details.

Personally I'd remove the years from the card.
I don't consider business cards to be adverts in the usual sense, rather a card to convey contact information, so don't go overboard with advertising what the person will already know.
