Hello im may be soon purchaseing my second set-up, and i wanted some experts advice.tell me what you think, is it good value for money?

No.

I would never advise buying something like that.

Buy individual pieces of kit that you need and upgrade over a period of time. You can get some great secondhand bargains and cheap deals form retailers or online retailers.

You could pay £1200 for that now and it would be worth a lot less tomorrow.

Doesn't look bad at all if you are just starting out.... would be interesting to hear what you are using at the moment in comparison with this new kit.

unfortunatly i sold my old kit last year. the equipment i was using was very heavy G-734 JBL speakers, a heavy amp from a night club,tmax lights and a numark 6 channel mixer with recording bank.

as darren said, i would look at other options.
i'm not sure you would buy all of that if it wasnt in a package.
the other advantage of buying individually is if you are on budget you can pick up "special deals" from several retailers, but also add bit by bit if you cant afford it all to start with.
would suggest spending more on the sound equipment than the gear provided in that package.

and dont do the lightscreens- use a £5 black sheet to start with if cash is tight.

Looks good value, but I don't think it's the to way to do it , you get things you don't really want , I think my priority would be a good amp & speakers first.

I would run a mile from those JB Systems Amps/Speakers as well. I made the mistake of buying a amp/speaker package for school, it was quite a few years ago mind.

Also... why do you get 2 amps and only one set of speakers? lol

Must say I have purchased a jb system amp and speakers from terralec and found them great. Been in use for about 8 year now.

I would not recomend getting the full mobile package however as mentioned before you should personalise your setup.

Many do not like terralec but I found them great when starting off as prices are reasonable, advise good and quality is good for what you pay.

Still use my jb system for 3rd setup when needed.

Totally agree with Will.

I think if you were maybe a starter to the industry and didn' really know what was what when it came to equipment etc.. it might be a good buy to start your business.
However as you have already been in the industry I would suspect it would be better for you to use your knowledge and experience to build up a rig from 'scratch' that is good for your needs and looks a bit different.

For example.. maybe having 2 light screens would be great if you have just started. But for me, not that I have some experience, I know what I would rather spend my money on!

And it is the same story with a lot of things I look at on terralec.. can always find it cheaper .. but still buy it with good stores (such as DJSTORE) who have good customer service :-)

I bought a JB systems 1600 watt amp and speaker package many moons ago. Although only ever used a few times, I still prefer the sound compared to my mackie active system. Go figure! :D

Lol - I tend not to order from them now becuase the theatre where I work have had bad experiences with them.

Maplins is great for something though.. like if you want a fairly cheap mirror ball! Not that I have bought one from there. Just saw them the other day when I went in for a bit of fun :D

Terralec aren't the most competitively priced, but their customer service can't be beaten (in my opinion). They still come out head and shoulders above any other company I've bought from.

One situation comes to mind. Their tech guy spent ages talking me through how to use and program a DMX controller I bought....that was after I told him I'd bought it from another company. As I was a long term customer of thiers he wanted to help me even though I'd purchased elsewhere. I wonder how many companies would do that in this day and age?. Terralec gets 10 out of 10 as far as I'm concerned. :)

I think you misunderstood what I was saying. Maybe I didn't make it clear, in which case I'm sorry. When I said that most people seem to sing the praises of Terralec very highly, I Didn't mean in THIS actual thread, but in GENERAL on this forum...as I can remember at least a couple of other threads where members have been very complimentary about their customer service.

I wasn't making something out of nothing at all, I was simply quite surprised that you suggested I said something which I didn't actually say!

As for me making a statement which someone disagreed with, most members do that on a daily basis...and that's one of the reasons why this forum is so interesting & enjoyable.

I have only bought smoke fuild from terralec but the service was great and the delivery was so quick.
