can anybody suggest a good reputable company suppliers. i've used Companys like DFBL,Terralec, but never used images,

what do you lot use.

i've used dolphin music a fair bit and they have been very good.
ebdj tend to be very cheap.
disco studio i have tried to by stuff from and they always back out and say it was an error on their website where the price was wrong (3 times this has happened)
and I used studio spares for the first time a few weeks ago- got a bargain of a lightstand from them.
use sabre for lamps and have been happy with them.

images are ok, luckilly they are about 15 min drive from me so i usually go to the unit myself, but never had any problems.

10/10 - Thomann - Perfect every time, no quibble exchange
9/10 - DJStore - Fast delivery, excellent cs, have to pay to return stuff
8/10 - SoundsLive - Fast(ish) delivery, extra for IoW :mad:
8/10 - Terralec - Good range, not so fast delivery, cheap
8/10 - Stagebeat - Great CS but one 'in-stock' item took a week to arrive
8/10 - HTFR - Limited range but good service
5/10 - Giggear - OK - good to deliver, after-sales needs improvement
3/10 - DFB/UKDJ - Rubbish CS, always get the address wrong!, no comms
3/10 - EBDJ - Difficult to get hold of, never return calls!
0/10 - Phase One - Never answer the phone, charge ££££s for delivery

Used plenty of other suppliers too but these represent the majority of purchases.

Thing is, everyone's had good and bad experiences with all suppliers - it's the way things are. All I can do is relate my good and bad.

I've used images to buy my lighting effects, microphones and karaoke CD+Gs. Only ever had one problem when a set of Acme gobo lights were sent without bulbs the day before the gig I needed them for. Wasn't too much of a problem cos I bought a set of bulbs from a local supplier and images sent the original ones a few days later after I'd called them.

If anyone uses Images, make sure you get a gold card (5% back on the card to use against future purchases). It's amazing how fast these points can build up - I've had a few free CD+Gs just from buying lights.

Images are good, and will give you some good advice, also good to check is clive at CRS1.com

I've also used whybuynew a number of times, but on one occasion they were rather slow to refund me when I returned a dodgy D2...although a couple of phone calls soon did the trick.

Funny how your good and bad ones are similar to mine. Only difference ive found is that if you phone Terralec, they get the order out alot faster (usually next working day for me).

Depends on the courier they use. There's only about 3 or 4 of the 'big boys' have depots here, the rest use forwarders and that can add 1 or 2 days delay.

Funny how Thomann generally get stuff here faster than most mainland UK dealers :bang:
