It appears to have been on for a while. What does anyone think? At that price, I can upgrade my corded mic as well.

I usually check feedback scores before making any purchases and their's seems good. If they are decent and want to keep selling on Ebay, they won't risk bad feedback. If I was you, I would buy one to see what it is like and use them again if the mic is up to scratch. Low postage cost too.

Yeah, but even if you check feedback it means nothing. There could be 100s of people who had fake goods and don't even realise.

Accepted, there are probably more fake SM58s around, but it's all relative, as there are more SM58s in the world than there are Sennys

True, but the vast majority of the time that's just not the case.

The best online bargains I've got have ALWAYS been the ones which turned out to be fake products...so they weren't really bargains at all!

I would always buy branded products from a reputable shop - much easier to get a refund / replacement if something goes wrong. I have bought items off ebay and to be honest, I haven't had anything 'dodgy' yet, but then I do a lot of research before I commit to buying.

How can research whether something is fake or not before you receive it. I am hardly naive, but have bought a fake SM58 from Ebay. When you see how similar they are, you'll know what I mean.

This may be a silly question, but have you tried the fake against a real one? Although not genuine, was it still value for money at the lower price, if you see what I mean?

It's isn't a bad mic, but not a 58.

I have since bought PG58s and SM58s and there isn't really a contest. They do look very similar though.

Honestly even the fake is a pretty good mike, I only found out mine was a fake Sennheisser e845s after a lot of research.

I'm happy with it for the price it was worth £35.

To be totally honest it sounds better than my SM58, I certainly cant fault it on anything apart from the on/off switch feels a little on the loose side for my liking.

Its actually even better than my SM58 for feedback as well

When most people think of fakes, they tend to think of DVDs and clothes, but that's only the tip of the iceberg.

Just about everything is being faked these days, including medicines, toothpaste an even eggs. Yes, I did say eggs...because it's cheaper to fake them than it is to keep the chickens which provide real ones!

Unless I'm mistaken, the thread is about whether something you intend to buy might be a fake...I merely gave examples of the massive number of fakes of all items which are around these days.

I bought 2 off an ebay seller called akumabox 29.99 each model E845S about 6 months ago if they are copies I cannot tell sound the same as my mates who bought from a local shop.I use them for karaoke or as a wired mic for speeches etc.

I believe or hope to believe that my 845s mics were genuine they are identical i.e same weight etc as my friends which was bought at a reputable dealer, all be it if there not they are very good fakes nearly on par with my sm58 slx wireless mic, but as solitaire posted ensure you are buying genuine.I checked feedback a time of buying, all was good.
