Rack Mountable Dmx Lighting Controller?

Hi I'm new to DMX lighting controllers.

i want one that i can program elsewhere and have set routines, which i can assign in a small rack mounted controller (ideal 1u) whist performing.

I currently have:

- two pilot 150 moving heads
- two dyna twins
- two super simitars

Most controllers are rack mountable. Well they have fitting anyway. It just depends on the size.

The DMX Masters (eg. stairville, acme) which alot of people use are, i think, either 17 or 19 inches (you need to check).

Good controllers. Depends what you want from them.

Can you even get a 1u dmx controller??? You can get a 2u but i have never seen a 1u.

The other thing I want to mention is... if it were me.. I wouldn't rack mount a dmx controller.

I know.
Maybe i'm a bit more of a 'puff' when it comes to my dmx stuff and like to design it a bit? lol.
My point being I like mine to be free and loose. I often go and sit in front of the rig before a disco.. with controller. and work at changing light settings to fit the venue from there.. so i see what it looks like.. (handy as you can see the colour changers etc too)
And the other reason is I don't use a rack. I'm a more spread out guy.
CD player / mixer over there, controller over there etc etc bvecause I never do it on my own - so it's easier spread out.

Er, no not really.

No-one said it has to be in a massively big rack or one that already has mixer etc in.

You can a small case for it.

For protection and 'cos it looks much better than having random bits of kit laying around.

lol. fair dos. Mine looks fine as it is. Certainly doesn't look random.
