I just picked up a Numark DMC-1 quite cheap for back-up so
does anyone have one of these and will it work on XP?
Do I need drivers for it and/or any other info would be handy?
Thanks in advance.:) :) :) :)

I'm pretty sure they work on XP, but that you need it chipped so that you can use it with certain software.

Blimey, Jaggie, I would have thought you would have checked out some fundamentals before parting with cash, even if it was a bargain.

Not if it was £20 or something though...;)

I put in a low bid on E-bay and won for $51.
The guy had 2 and the other one sold for $120!:beer1:

Good deal really.

I know that the DMC1 will work with PCDJ red as that is what i used to use it with but for Numark Cue/Virtual Dj you might have to get it chipped as it used to keep crashing when i moved onto numark cue.

Do they run via a serial port? if so youl need an adaptor to usb as most laptops dont have a serial port.
Id think if drivers were required you could possibly download from Numark

I will install PC DJ red and see how I get on, Had planned on BPM studio pro but probably wont work so Im told,

Just need to piddle with the USB adapter issue since I hear that not all adapters are created equal.:) :) :) :) :)
Cheers for all your input fellas.:beer1:

The DMC-1 works fine on my home desktop into the serial port with Red but I wasted 10 bucks on a serial to usb adapter though.
I ordered a serial express card for the laptop so fingers crossed.;) ;)
