View Full Version : So annoyed
I had an enquiry for a disco this thursday quite a while back. I said i was avaliable and they said that the manager would get back to me.
I have had nothing since.
So i have just phoned them and checked if they still require my services and now they say yes we do. Now its a panic to get everything sorted.
Just orded my new toy and now i hope i can learn how to use it in time for the thursday gig. I hope its not a wedding. :(
Im sorry but what is so hard about either picking up the phone or sending an email. :bang:

Exactly. Now you have to rush around after someone who is sort of treating you like a mobile disco slave.
If you didn't need the money, you should have said ''computer says no''

Well that's sort of arguable. Your client shouldn't mess you about.

If it were me i would add an extra charge for doing the 'Mike Reed'.....
Ok got some news.
He just phoned me back and said i am doing a disco on thursday. Im with a band so that should be intresting
Also he has 2 weddings for me. One is confirmed and the other one need more info. On thursday im going to get the details for the confirmed wedding and ask if a meeting can be arranged. Give it my best shot. :)
Things are slowly picking up (touch wood)
But i am still annoyed about that fact he did not confirm these bookings. He thought he would just email me and that would be that. No.

I've had this with a venue before.
What you need to do it post contracts as soon as they say they need you for a date. But, clearly state on the contract that it should be returned within 7/14/21 (whatever you think is best) days to secure the date.
After that time, chase them up and explain that you're now open to take another booking on that date, so you can either hold the date for another day or two i.e. the time it takes them to sign and send the form back, or it'll be first come, first served.
Unless you've got another enquiry for the same date, then you may not want to be as firm with them, but then at least if you are in the first instance they know not to mess you around.
They'd soon be complaining if you got booked up for something else on the same date!
