And I thought it was so obvious? Oh yes, it's another of those gigs you can't wait to do, waves of screaming kids asking for stuff you've never heard of/ stuff you know they listen to at home, but you can't play cos of advisory lyrics etc. I don't know what they're running on, but I know I want some!!!!

Gear report. Sadly I didn't have a lot of spare time to have a really exhaustive trial, but I can definitely say it's not going back to the shop in a hurry.;) Feedback rejection was excellent, and on my gear, I was getting quite a nice sound, with a lot less top needed than normal. My corded mic was a Sennheiser825, and it beat that hands down . So far, so good. Tomorrow night is a 21st for a learning difficulties party in a small venue, and will involve me Front of House for games etc quite a lot, so should be a really good test. I can now say I'm quietly confident. :)

i use twin wireless KAM mic's. there good but seem to get alot of feed back sometimes:(

You dont surprise me on the Sennheiser --I bought one or something similar "on trial" money back in 14 days arrangement --- from Maplins---that went straight back for a refund!!!!!!!!!

The new radio mic was almost faultless, sounded good, feedback was no problem at all, I could go anywhere in the room, no signal loss even through two walls in the next room. Very happy. I must add that my speakers were on the floor, due to not having stands with me for some reason, so the HF units were not as close to the mic as they sometimes can be, which obviously did help, but all in all, it bodes well for the future. Next big test is a Young Farmers Dinner Dance, where the old mic has always struggled to keep signal. :D :D

So what exactly do you get up to with a radio mike:D :D :D

At the most I only walk about 50 feet from the main Equipment area at Barn Dances:D No JTS drop out problems.

Personally I would have hired the mike for this specific function to see if it suited your needs on a hire /buy arrangement.

As it's a family forum, I can't say!;)

Sometimes mine is further than that, and drop out was often a problem on VHF, usually at an inopportune moment.




Personally I would have hired the mike for this specific function to see if it suited your needs on a hire /buy arrangement.

It's a long story, but when I bought it, the day job dictated that it was " O Sole Mio" , and I had to have something there and then, in advance of the YFC function. I would have been unable to test anything at all after that. Also at that time funds were very definitely limited. Sods Law dictates, as we all know, that the day job then changed out of all recognition, and other options would have been available. It's the old adage, " If I was going there, I wouldn't have started from here!!"
