Been using my Numark CDN-88 for a while. I used to be a big Denon fan but their local post-sales service went down the toilet... TWICE!

Anyway, the Numark needs some TLC that I can't readily afford at the mo' (this moving countries lark is an expensive proposition), so I borrowed back my old Denon 2500F.

There's a really, really noticeable improvement in bass playback through my system!

For some reason I'd never considered the possibility of significant variation in audio reproduction between units until someone mentioned it on here just after I signed on, but man, the bass in my cans is better, too!

I don't mind Numark, I'll happily use it, albeit it second choice to Denon. A lot of people put it in the 'budget gear' bracket, but I put it closer to 'pro' than budget.

I can't say I've ever noticed a variation in audible quality though.

Are you saying that the denon is better as i dont think i understand.

If so then since i have used my denon gear im having to turn my speakers and bass down as the sound is much louder than what i was using before. The sound is much clearer and crisper.

I too had a denon system, but it spent more time in there workshop than in my rack, so the numark I have will always sound better!
I paid £600 less for the numark than I did for the denon and it has never let me down!

There are bound to be playback tonal differences in sound equipment---viz: I find Cortex HDC 1000 is lighter on bass than using a CD player--I just turn up the bass eq on my mixer---does that work for you?
