A funny thing happened at my pub quiz last night.

I'd set up the gear & was checking the papers, when a fairly old guy came up & asked what was happening tonight, so I explained it was a quiz night, and gave him some details.

He asked how much it was, so I told him £1 a person. He then reached into his pocket & brought out some change...so I explained that it didn't start for about half an hour, and told him I'd go round then to collect the money.

He replied "I'll be gone by then"

I explained that he wouldn't be able to do the quiz then, and he said "Never mind...have these, I've been wanting to get rid of them"

He placed five £1 coins into my hand, told me to have a drink and then walked off!

I'm glad to say it wasn't a dream...as I was definately up by £5 when I got home!
