Right, rant time.

Can someone please explain to me why people always seem to feel the need to put balloons up at functions. No matter what sort of function someone always thinks, "I know, why don't I put up some coloured inflated rubber". Maybe I'm just miserable but I'm really getting fed up with random bangs, nearly giving me a coronary when setting up or packing away. It doesn't matter where they get put up, they will always end up on the floor getting stamped on by some obnoxious little brat. :bang: :bang: :bang:

I do agree that it's annoying when tke kids pop them though...and sometimes they even pop of theit own accord!

Balloons are a symbol of celebration,
If the ballons are chosen correctly, & positoned correctly then can transform the boring old function room into something else.

Yeah, but other things that don't bang, like streamers, could also be used.

Ok ballons do go bang every now and again but all the functions that i have provided at and balloons have popped all the guests have seen it as a bit of fun...

I agree with that one, rob. I've done many a gig where balloons just go bang and no-one is near then. Maybe they've been blown up too far in the first place.

I don't mind balloons, tho. What I do mind are the kids who think it's fun to whack them at me or my lights. Lights get hot and that's not a good thing for balloons. Maybe it's my fault cos I sell the balloons as an add-on along with banners and glo-sticks and all sorts of other things that kids love. Mind you, I make a fair bit from kids and family parties so I really mustn't complain! ;)

why when i strike up my disco at functions do all the balloons seem to pop within about 20 minutes on their own ???? ive never known this?

ahh,got to agree..why do people put them next to hot lights? everytime they go bang it scares the life out of me!! thinking the amps blown or something oh and then if any do remain alive by midnite everyone jumps on them,how annoying..........

I rarely get the chance to use confetti cannons as hotels often refuse. Have seen some refuse party poppers too. Can see their reasons why to be honest.

Balloons why do they always have to put them over the stage where you wan't to put the light rig :rolleyes:

I've come back to things tied to my kit, like last summer strings of butterflies were hanging from the goal post, but never pinned to it.
