Another thread linked to you tube showing some LED scanners, whilst there i noticed another video for a LED colour changer/flood its caption read
"Ideal for situations where smoke is not allowed"
Am i correct in thinking then that LED fixtures still show the beams but without smoke?

If so then perhaps you can suggest some replacements for current ligting that i would be looking to replace.

No. Because LED's are brighter there is more chance of the beams being visible but only slightly.

No. The only lighting that comes close to giving a "beam without smoke" is HID but even this has to be taken with a pinch of salt IMHO unless you're into >500W territory.

Get yourself a hazer and run it on the very lowest setting - unless you're directly underneath a particle detector you'll get away with it. I do.

No. You can connect a number of USB peripherals to it and play back music files stored thereon. The unit has 3 USB ports but you can use a hub to increase this. Then connect a USB hard disk full of MP3s, an iPod, or even a USB CD or DVD drive (latest 1.09 firmware only) with either a standard audio disc or a data disc full of MP3s/WAVs etc. The device has two "decks" plus a "crate" facility and it's just a case of pointing the unit at the file you want to play and hitting 'Go'.

My 250w Discharge lamps in my moving heads that I use produce pretty good beams when no smoke or haze is used. Although the haze does indeed ehance it as would be expected.

The difference between haze or not it seems would be that if the heads are pointing towards you - you can see the beam (but not as clearly as with haze).
if poinint away then you can't see it.
With haze you can usually see the beam in any direction that you look. (i have taken a lot of video at a gigi over the weekend so will be uploading soon when editied)
