Hi Scott, welcome to the mad house. Hope you enjoy your stay.
If you've just started up you should find this forum very helpful. Have a look round using the search facility, very useful.
Tell us a bit more about yourself, why did you get into DJing etc... It's just nice to know other peoples views :D

Hi Scott and welcome to the forum :)

Firstly, thanks all for the welcomes!:)
I got in to DJing about 6 years ago, when an old friend bought a detached house with a lounge large enough to throw major house parties!
We decided after many years of watching DJ's out and about, that we wanted to try for ourselves, so we set up a sort of DJ booth in the corner of the room, with Stanton decks, a Numark mixer, amp and 15" Disco speakers.
At first it was mainly for our own enjoyment, but soon started getting rather large turnouts, with tunes being mixed from early evening to morning, along with a residency at a local funky bar.:D
I'd always fancied being a mobile DJ myself, so when i got offered some basic lighting at a good price i snapped it up, and we fitted it in the lounge! lol!
I'd not long split from my ex, and met my current partner over in Telford, so i ended up seeing more of her, than my mates, which ended up with me drifting apart from them. I do remember getting a couple of random phonecalls from them, one of which was to tell me that Lisa Lashes was at his house, and on another occasion Andy Farley was on the decks!
How gutted was i!!??:(
Anyway,
I ended up buying decks for myself, to keep in practice, but kept getting asked by family etc.. to do parties, which was all the persuasion i needed to buy my current mobile disco setup:)
I still blend in the odd cheeky mix or two when out, as i still love my house/speed garage, but prefer having the choice to cover all ages/genres of music that mobile disco's allow.
One of my other passions however, is with music production, so ive set up a little studio at home where im learning to produce my own material, which hopefully one day, i might even get to play out at a gig!
Apologies for the long winded reply!:coat: :D

Hi Scott. Welcome to the family!
One of the forum rules is to use proper English language and not shorthand/sms type communication so I wouldn't worry about the lengthy texts. Anyway, some of the folk on here are pretty quick with their replies so long posts should slow them down a bit!! :D :D

Actually, robbie, twice this week I've posted messages and got a response within a couple of minutes. Guess I was just online at the right time, eh?
I also PM'd Darren (Solitaire) and he was so quick I'm beginning to think he's psychic!

But you do a great job, Darren, and we all appreciate it. :approve:
I think I'm spending too much time on the laptop, though. Wor lass is in the huff again! I've told her it's work-related (;)) but she won't listen! Got a good gig on tonight so she'll cheer up when she sees the cash!
Once again, thanks for the welcomes!:D
Scott.
