O What a night lol

Had an 18th tonight left at 5.30 for set up , rigged by 6.20 and playing music starts 7.00 quiet till 8 ish when people arrive everything going well dance floor busy everyone enjoying themselfs. Then 9.00pm and im told to shut down by police some tube has smashed the window with his hand so rig down , load car and hung about for 10 mins while my mate had a fag then home for back of half 9.

Now i know most of you will say 18th trouble all the time but ive done a number of 18ths and this is the first thats been shut down its annoyed me abit as i was enjoyin myself but nothing you can do. Just about broke my leg loading as well as the cops wouldnt move there cars as it was a "Crime scene" and they were just standing talking ..... Yea normal shift for them then lol. Just one they nights some one has too much and thinks there are the hulk lol here is the tunes i played before we shut -

Funny you should say that i had a 21st on saturday that got a bit "rough". a few fights, smashed doors and glasses, very drunk people. Police didn't get involved but we did have 2 big bouncers who were good at their jobs:).

seeing the violent and drunks at these disco really does turn you off of being a DJ sometimes. They just have no self of control!

Well most they time they told us to help our self to the drink as no one was getting back in and the hall guy (not his real name lol) said the room has getting cleared so couple of beers up n bottle of vodka :D

the only time i can remember any trouble in 18 years was at a wedding when the head bride's amid stuck her tongue down the grooms throut in the middle of the dance floor!!!! that night (and marriage) was over pretty quick

Fortunately havent had any trouble at a gig for ages (touch wood). Back in the 60's and 70's Friday night was always punch up night; however, that is what it was - a punch up. These days the object seems to be to get someone on the floor and stamp on their head until they are dead. When I was young real men never hit another man when he was down - only cowards did that.
