Guys,

On the look out a pair of active subs and came across these

http://www.ukgigstore.co.uk/ldasub15-sub-bass-unit---15-woofer-52-p.asp

Anyone use them or heard them playing?

Spec sounds ok but thought i'd throw it out to the floor so to speak

It all depends on what Wattage your existing speakers are and whether you are going to buy 1 or 2.

Apparently (I've been told) the bass should be considerably louder than the mids/top. Apart from that, looks ok but you can buy a Mackie SWA1501 for sround the same price, same weight and an extra 100W too. I used to use Mackie Actives until recently but made the change to a passive system (them subs really are heavy).

[edit] Just re-read specs and didn't realise it's a plastic cab. Make sure you definately listen to one if your seriously considering it. I think wood cabs (especially subs) have a nicer sound. More mellow & natural.

Alternatively have a look at the Db Technologies Sub 15 which doesn't cost much more, is lighter and double the power http://soundslive.co.uk/product~id~3726.asp
