Hi, I have tried the search but to no avail. I have acquired 2 light boxes:eek: rather cheaply. One has a damaged screen, which is a white translucent peice of perspex. Now can i find a replacement, NO. I have tried good old B&Q, but their perspex is all clear type or frosted like a bathroom window pattern. Can anyone "enlighten" , (good pun) me as to where I might get hold of a new screen. I also need a controller but think I can manage on the info i got from the brilliant search facility on here;) .

Thanks
Mike

No I haven't, do you know if they do them from experience, as my nearest jewson is a fair way away, and don't want a wasted journey, I would phone, but it's hard to describe or be understood as to what it is i want...!!.

The screen that is on it at the moment is white, and you can't see through it so it's opaque i guess as opposed to translucent, and is about 3mm thick. I'm not sure how those type of screens will look.
Please don't go out of your way Nathan.

Hya Mike a good starting place to look for new screens is somewhere that make signs, even if they don't stock they can usually get for you or put you in the right direction.

If needs be i can get you some plastic that we use at work that we use on light boxes. Its white but diffuses the light as it goes through. Or just contact them directly. We have a laser cutter that can cut it to to the correct size etc.

The best stuff is the smooth white thick stuff. The knobbly stuff is relatively weak. Brownings in Hull is where I got my last ones.

We used to have some that the knobbly stuff was the wrong way round (peaks on the outside) shredded my knuckles many a time.

the perspex is probally the most expensive part of box lights and replacements can be expensiive. But u dont have to use like for like - frosted and other perspex sheets work equally as well and can give u a set of unique screens.

goto any good diy store it will save you a packate

Thanks Richard but it would no doubt cost me a fortune in p&p, then not convinced it would get to me unscathed....!. But thanks anyway.
Creature, I'm thinking you may be right, the frosted stuff is a lot cheaper.
