Just signed up at http://www.find-a-dj.co.uk/ , mainly to try & get some more specialized gigs, but you never know.

Seems OK for free & there are certainly mobiles on there, If nothing else it's another ad for nowt.

If anyone else wants to sign up please list me ([email protected]) as your referer. Ta.

I registered not too long ago. I've had tons of spam from them since. I've now asked them to remove me from their database and directory. It really :Censored: me off when you sign up for something and they take it as "open season" to flood you with emails.

My advice....avoid them like the plague. I wish I had.

You may be one of the lucky ones. Fingers crossed for you.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt this time, but isn't this usually the case with the free ones? You always seem to get spam from them, just add them to your filter.

I very rarely get spam from the free ones I'm listed on. Then again, I'm not on very many.

Yep, must be. The thing is I do expect the odd bit spam, and I don't really mind as long as they offer the option to unsubscribe (which I believe is a legal requirement for UK companies). There's no option to 'opt out' on their emails. Seriously annoying.

Hi Guys
Although we do not have an “unsubscribe” button, you can e-mail us at any time, via the webpage, and ask for your name removing.

You may want to look into this. I believe there is legislation now in place that states that there should be the option to unsubscribe. I'm sure I'm not the only potential customer of yours that is turned off by not having the option available.

Email Marketing Law

The Law - summary

On 11th December, an EU Directive - the Privacy and Electronic Communications Act, comes into force in UK law. This law means that you cannot send direct marketing email to individuals unless they have opted into receiving such communication. It also requires that you ensure your identity is clearly disclosed in the email and you provide a working unsubscribe option with all communication.

The Information Commissioners Guidance to the Act states that the rules for electronic mail also apply to SMS/picture/video marketing communication, as well as answerphone messages left by marketers making marketing calls that would otherwise be 'live'.

Hello, I am the main designer behind FIND-A-DJ. I would like to assure you that we have a very strict anti-spam policy.

- As a free or full member we do not share your email address with anybody other than people viewing your profile.

- We do not email any members anything other than important information about your account.

EliteDJ had experienced a one of problem with our service due to a bug which appeared in our email system. This bug was repaired as soon as it was discovered. The email we sent you was a reminder to upgrade your account because your FULL membership was coming to an end within 7 days. This bug meant instead of sending your 1 reminder we sent you 600.

I can assure you this problem has been solved and will never happen again. EliteDJ was the only member to fall victim of this bug. We have apologised many times to EliteDJ for this problem and offered him a free FULL membership for the trouble caused.

If you wish not to receive any emails from us simply reply to the email received and we will permanently remove your from our system.

Thank you,
Richard

Strange, this is the first I've heard of any offer. Are you sure you haven't mistaken me for someone else?.
