Just taken a very lucrative little last minute booking for this weekend. I think they're mad but the money is sitting in my paypal account. Am doing a wedding disco for a couple who have been let down at last minute....in a chateau just outside Rennes!:D Will take the over night ferry tomorrow night from Plymouth, nice hotel on saturday night and ferry back on sunday! Cheered me up no end. Even a chance to stock up on the old vin rouge, if I can fit any in! Client has organised all the travel as well! Just got to upgrade my PLI to cover EU. :)

That's about 45 minutes from where I'm sitting at the moment....

The Hotel manager lives in Rennes and says there's "nothing worth going there for"!

TAKE YOUR REGISTRATION DOCUMENT AS WELL--and your E111 or whatever it is now for health treatment.

I had a big argument with the French Police when I forgot my Reg Document--luckily I persuaded them I was stupid English--no undertand the language chief--so they gave up--but I knew:D

Don't forget paypal can remove money from paypal accounts if other party says there is a problem. I heard once of a scam like this but using cheques.
Probably kosher but still make sure you are sure its real.

Sunny, but cool and windy.

We went to Caen last year and it's about 105 miles from here according to the sat nav.

Felicitations Tris

As Rennes is the Breton capital, your Cornish should easily bridge any language barriers ;)

Are you sure they didn't Google for a 'Taquis' (slang = "teaser") DJ ? :D

Have a safe trip and a great time and rest assured that the Duchy will be well guarded while you're away.

Unfortunately Roscoff, its either a long drive this side or that side. Have to say French roads have a tendency to be quieter.

:o Hadn't thought of that. Have to get some adaptors.

Bonsoir Mon sewer:)

Nah--strip back some cable and just shove the two wires in the plug , holding them in with matchsticks.

They dont bother with earthing over there in Europe--

Is your PLI Insurer ok for this job?

Well its ironical but your playing in the home of the Discotheque.

That used to be pronounced in French France as DISCOTAY :D

Wikipeda says its pronounced DISCOTEK but I dont think thats right.

I visited one in Paris around 1968 --pretty tame really.

Have fun--au revoir mon ami;)

Have just updated my PLI for EU cover for 30 days. Its a wedding for people that I do actually know so I know its not a con. Am a little more concerned by the fact that the shipping forecast states gale force 8 to severe gale 9 sea state rough to very rough.

Safely home. Great gig, turned out it was nowhere near Rennes but just outside Quiberon, and in a marquee not in a chateau. Weather was a bit ropey as well. Am now seriously tired after being sick as a dog on the way home and having to get up at stupid o'clock for work this morning. Oh and I've still got sea legs and everything is still moving. Well worth it though.

Well done. I did a gig at Euro Disney some years ago and it is a real adventure working abroad.
