Does anybody use or seen the Rock Balls in action?
How good are they?

They have a good light but can be too bright and dazzling for people sitting or on the dance floor.
Will depend on the occasion I suppose. Maybe ok for teens and 21st but a bit 'in the eye' for weddings etc.

I've seen them before and they give a good effect when used with a bit smoke. But they can fill a room with beams which may be bit uncomfortable for those sitting near the dancefloor. Personally, I prefer effects which can be focused more on to the dancefloor so people who don't want to be blinded can simply stay off the dancefloor.
It's been said many times on this forum that as DJs we should be playing to dancefloor and not the seating areas and I totally agree with that.

I once had a pair of the "balls" not conjoined and they were a good bright effect but the problem was they had a low duty cycle of 10-15 minutes otherwise they overheated and the bulbs popped. The bulbs in mine weren't cheap either  So they went on the 'bay.

They are more of an install centrepiece than a mobile effect.
I wouldn't use them, no control whatsoever.

Arr thanks fellas, yeh I agree its about filling the dance floor and not for the whole room, that can actually put people of dancing.
