Cottage pie or spag bol?
The main ingredients could go either way, but I'm undecided.

I'm erring in that direction, but Angela likes a spag bol & she's not in yet.

Given the choice, bol. But then I'd probably warm it up a bit and make it into a nice chilli and whack it on top of a nice crispy jacket spud with some grated cheese.

Chilli not an option (Angela can only just stomach a can of Stag).
2 votes to 1 in favour of cottage pie (should I have added a poll?)

You've not been here long enough to have seen the multitude of foodie threads over the years
& you didn't answer the question.

Glad to see you say cottage pie and not shepherd's pie. It really annoys Carol when somebody refers to shepherd's pie .......... with beef mince. It must be lamb.
Is it a real cottage pie though, with sliced potato on top not mashed? :sj:

How would you survive without this forum Steve...
It's a sad day when someone has to ask the forum what you should make for dinner...:sj:

Right, what should I do for dinner tonight?
As usual for a Wednesday, I'm on the North Island in B+B digs. I have no access to cooking things but I do carry about with me a pack of paper plates, cutlery and a large bottle of diet pop.
Choices are as follows:
1. Go into Asda and get some hot meat & crusty bread.
2. Chinese. The one nearby is probably a 7 out of 10.
3. Indian. There are several nearby and none is more than a 5 out of 10.
4. Pizza Hut. Desperate times...
5. KFC. But then I'll be hungry again around 9pm.
6. M&S Simply Food at the Moto services. But then I did that last night.
7. Errr... struggling now.

If it were me...i would go to Asda...but swap the hot meat for a selection of cheese, stick of bread and a bottle of red........mmmmmmm.

those new covered nugget things in kfc are nice but very messy and had an indian on sunday
i'd agree option a looks nice and if you can get some beef or pork then asda do a nice speacial sweet honey mustard that is delicious.

You guys have to remember that walking into Asda is akin to walking onto a flying saucer for someone whose nearest supermarket at home is about 7 miles away (which in IoW terms is the end of the earth). You could probably fit 12 of our Tescos' into 1 north island Asda :)
Scary place
Having mulled around the options I'm coming to the Asda conclusion too.
Just remembered what #7 is... curry night at the local pub. Not too keen on going on my own though

Out of intrest...when you say North Island...do you mean North on the IOW....as i thought the islands not that big and you could be able to go home.....or do you mean off the IOW....:o :)

"The North Island" is an IoW phrase meaning "The Mainland" in a kind of self-centred way :o

Forgot to update the thread :p
I eventually went with a rather tasty chicken kebab.
Same dilemma tonight though... so any suggestions?

7. Kebab. Chicken is about a 9/10 but the others are rank.
Tastebuds are currently favouring #4. Must be needing some cheese input. That's OK though, I've got a 50th on Saturday night!

Went with #6. Yum :) Hoisin duck & salad wrap, honey roast salmon flakes, "a few" chocolate teacakes. Sorted.
