Dead in May

Anyone else dead in May? not even had a lot of enquirys and only one booking so far, by far the worst month I have had in years.
Is there a trend going about or am I just unlucky this month?
Could just be my area, based in Fife Scotland.

As reported earlier I am very quiet in May personally although will be passing on a fair bit of Barn Dance work through our Professional Contacts.

Yeh.
It seems to be the trend to book quite late.. from my experiences this year anyway!
Which is a biatch for me as I am normally busy as I arrange other things (work / hobbies etc).

Like Crazy K mentioned, there's another thread in the business section (I think) about it being a bit slow at the moment.

We're bucking this trend and, like PPEntertainments, May is our busiest month to date. We've no more scope for weekend (Fri, Sat & Sun) bookings in May as the last 2 booking slots (for Sunday 4th and Saturday 31st) were taken today.

I would agree that the bookings are coming in late but this seems to have been the case over the last year or so. And as we can take on bookings with as little as 4 hours notice (handy for people who've been let down by other DJs) this situation is not a problem for us.

8 so far in May... a bit on the quiet side but it's one of the quieter months anyway (with November).

Yeah I've got 9, including 2 in the last 2 days. and 10 days booked off following my knee-op. so not bad - June is Mega, but July 's a bit slow at the mo!

Same here just had someone on looking for the 17th May. Seem to be getting alot more late calls than used to. May aint too bad could be doing with some more bookings though , April was quiet had alot of phone calls turning into bookings this month tho next couple of months looking good.

The enquiries are still coming in for May. Just took a call for a local party on 17th May. Unfortunately, I've no weekend availability left for May so had to pass.

April nice and busy, out every weekend. Only two bookings for May, but then again I'm away for three weeks on honeymoon, but the agency would probably have filled it up if i was here.

I had one saturday free in may and that went about 7.pm this evening. All weddings in may.

Here in Cyprus from May till July we are full and most of the events are weddings.
