Annoying dmx connectors..

I know some people get a bit annoyed by some scanners when they have the dmx port on the head of the unit.. thus the "standard" connector sticks up quite a bit and makes the cabling look a bit messy.

I wonder if one of these might help?

I have a similar problem, its probably done for a reason but on my scanners the power is on the bottom and DMX on the top.
It would make things neater and easer if they where both on the top! :p

that does sound a bit silly. mine are on the same end thankfully...
The logicalness (is that a word) of conenctors should be looked at before buying a unit imho :)

I had a similar problem with the quarter inch jack plug on the end of my mic lead. When I plugged it into my mixer, it was right in front of one of the play buttons on my dual CD player.

My solution also involved changing the standard jack plug to a right-angled one.

Problem sorted!

:D The *real* pedantic society over on the other blue coloured forum, would be persistant in telling us that a 3 pole XLR is in no way a DMX connector and that equipment that uses such are only childrens' toys.
The ONLY DMX connector is a 5 pole XLR.

Worlds apart eh?

Oh, and yes, right angled XLR (in whatever flavour) or jacks are a bit useful. I've had some right angled IEC connectors which have been nice in tight spaces.
