Different way of using mirror balls

I've been mixing and matching my show, trying different lighting effects for different functions and sizes of rooms and this is the latest effort. I want to use the balls more for weddings and this worked really well.

The two motors rotated in different directions too and the whole room was covered - it did look brilliant.

This was for a 40th birthday and the guy whose party it was loved the mirrorballs and also the Nebulas.

I reckon I've had more comments about the lasers now than any other effect I've ever used.

The mirrorballs could really be doing with being set forward slightly as the beam from the moving heads is catching the EFX500 which is the centrepiece.

i was using 2 12 inch ones thios weekend went down very well so i have ordered 2 16inch ones today

I think for the money, they are one of themost effective effects you can get. What other effect can be bought for less than £25? (plus something to spot it)

I have two small men standing, holding them on shelves...:D

No, they are on Ultimax utility shelf thingys.

I did worry about them moving but they are rock solid and I also checked with Andy Tain to make sure the weight was OK to go on them.

It brings another dimension and layers your lighting too. I wasn't overly happy with the heads on the floor, so decided to try something else. I also thought they may make the tripods slightly top heavy, but they don't at all.

I've always used Mirrorballs. Going from a Par36 to firing Scanners & Movers onto them has really taken it up a notch.

I love setting the show up so that every now and then all the other lighting goes off and just leaves the white strobing movers hitting the balls, looks awsome!

Don't think it's down to being an expensive camera, more to do with the on board light metering system of the camera over compensating the exposure for the main Imove beams (Hence them been over exposed and "burnt out" on the ceiling) and the rest of the picture looking more pink that it actually would be. The same thing happens when I take pictures of my impossibleds

I've got two small mirrorballs I got cheap from the Woolworths party range. Never thought of using them for a disco before (they were just a nice effect for a home NYE party). Think I'll give them a try tonight, though. They might just add that something extra.

I don't think they're a lesser effect, though. Whenever I do weddings in venues that have their own mirrorballs installed, I always try to use them.
