Lovely weather tonight, and like Saturday everyones dissapeared outside, B&G are no where to be seen.

Also, spend most of my fee on the van, as the exhaust snapped on the way, so had to go get it fixed in Shrewsbury between setting up and being back for this evening :mad:

Oh, and i'm not allowed to use the mic (except to introduce first dance, had to persuade them!) or play any 70s or 80s :eek: Luckily they're mainly a younger lot.

At least the hotel has free wireless which will give me something to do for an hour or so until it gets dark!

Sounds like you are going to be in for a good evening then,
Can't believe that they won't use the mic, alot of people will be going away saying "the dj only spoke once" and makes you look bad and loose any potential bookings.

I played a good gig on Saturday evening - but it was hot so most people outside. Also drinks weren't from a bar - just a table with loads on it for the small crowd - so it was one, after the other, after the other...... soon drunk.

Didn't mind though - people who wanted to dance did so and the client was happy.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of punters out there who are terrified of getting the Peter Kaye style DJ who never shuts up and so have a knee-jerk reaction and say 'no chat or banter'.

Yup! Been a fairly good night once they all came in, but the bride was paraletic by about quarter past 11, rest of the guests gave up around midnight so have had less than 10 about for the last half hour, not too bad considering there's only 40 guests in total!

Don't think I've ever done a "normal" night there. The last one, the Bridegroom & Best man just wanted Quo all night! Every time I ventured away from "Heads down no-nonsense mindless boogie, they came up with more requests - again only about 50 guests!:)

I was in a marque this weekend with the hot weather was great as when the sun went down everyone came in and was a great night.

Wasnt so good in there Sunday afternoon. slightly toasty to say the least
