Well good morning ladies and gentlemen of the entertainment world,

The time has come at last , tomorrow morning I shall be chicking in to hospital in Nottingham , to undertake the NHS 's extreme weight loss program :D :D :D

As a few of you know last September I had surgery on my ankle to fuse the joint , sadly this has not worked and for the last 8 months i have been either wheelchair bound or on crutches unable to weightbare on my right leg .

the upshot of this is and using technical jargon "its knackered" so i will be having a below the knee amputation of my right leg.

The plan is to spend summer rehabilitating and start back djing in September giving me 4 months ish a time frame the hospital team deems is realistic. There is a risk i will not take to a prosthetic limb but its well worth the risk to be vertical again and get rid of the constant pain and swelling and infection in the leg.

I just wanted to thank in particular Paul at Spirits high and Tony at Andromeda and Martin at LincsDJ for making the finding of cover so easy for me and being so understanding and helpful over the past months it is massively appreciated , inparticular the first two names who have been very good to me (see theres one for djs being supportive and helping each other out alot) Tony who has called me most days and kept me sane while ive been under house arrest unable to get out with jokes wind ups and secret plans to take threads so far off topic they speak martian :D :D :D sssshhhhhh.

(incidentally i know there is a few ends to tie up which will be done today guys)

Also on that score i'd like to thank the admin team on the site for cutting me some slack and allowing my pratty remarks , sillyness with Tone and witisizms over the recent months. much appreciated guys .....(you watch every post ive ever made will disappear tomorrow morning now) :D :D :D :D

I have to be in at 7am tomorrow and been told im probably first on the list ... so to that end i will be one of the only married men in history to be permitted to be legless before lunch time :D :D :D :D

Not to nervous to be honest as its about my 30 something bout of surgery and lets face it its only a scratch .... i mean ive got a spare leg and everything!!!

so i will be missing from the forum for a period of about 2 weeks hopefully if all goes well , will try and con a wireless connection from somewhere if i can .... can we not sort out a mobile connection so i can post from my phone ??? :D :D :D :D

thanks to everyone for the laughs over the past few months its all really helped keep me from going nuts .... believe me i have gone from selling up to moving on up in that time, so thanks one and all .

see you all soon ....... if i can drag myself to dj show north i will...

"smoke me a kipper , i'll be back for breakfast"

Dave

We will be thinking of you and hoping that everything goes well for you.

Despite what you told me at NADJ show, I still maintain that you are very brave and I wish you all the luck in the world with your op and recovery thereafter.

It is also nice to hear of others who are helping you out with bookings and particularly good of Tony to keep in touch with you and keep the humour flowing!

All the best buddy.

Dave, very best of luck and I think your very brave.

Yesterday I went under general anaesthetic in Three Shires Hospital Northampton to have my nose sorted out and im back again in one piece.;)

After having double vision for a while whilst the Anaesthetic wore off.

That really was a bit worrying, it can be dangerous territory, so just make sure you cover all those things you need to before leaving home and im sure your positive attitude and humour will ensure you succeed.

Heres one to finish--im in the preparation room waiting for the Anaesthetist
to put me under by sticking the needle in my vein and he says--I like people with protruding veins like yours--I said--your not related to Count Dracula are you????????

Good luck with it Dave, your lucky to have some good friends to support you up there---
