Agreed (apart from no brainer)
OK. So 'no brainer' means you don't need a brain to work out the answer? or only someone without a brain would take the other choice?
Either fits.
BUT what if you did take the other choice or had a different answer for whatever reason. Doesn't that make the 'no brainer' comment rather insulting?

People who drive at 40.
Just 40.
In a 60 zone they drive at 40.
In a 30 zone they drive at 40.
So you're hanging off their arse for miles and miles then just as you get to a village they're off, only for you to catch up with them again a mile or so up the road :bang: :bang: :bang:

Ah yes, the 'nice steady forty' club. We have a main road close by that goes 60 - 30 - 60 and that's exactly what happens with the 'NSF' club:bang:
Speaking of driving....... I was following someone today who (like me) was turning right off one road in to another, nothing special about the roads or junction... they swept so far to the left before making the turn I could nearly get up their OUTSIDE!!
Why do people do this 'sweeping' thing to take turnings? It only makes it harder:confused: Not like they were driving anything big:confused:
And speaking of junctions.... those people when approaching a T junction to turn right out of and start making the turn several yards BEFORE they arrive at the junction, stopping with part of the front of their car on the wrong side of the road, at an angle to the junction:mad:
I never ever ever let them out, I will make hard work of turning into the junction first:evelgrin:

Saw one of my pet hates today on the way to dropping the we boy off at nursery.....
Lollipop men / women / persons who operate at traffic lights. Why? I'm pretty sure the red light means I should stop, I don't need a pensioner with a stick to back it up.
Who pays these people? I hope it doesn't come out of my taxes!

Yeah strange that one. I guess it's because there are so many numpties who don't stop for the red light.
But then, round here anyway, it's one of the few red lights people do actually stop for. Generally they don't bother at junctions, at least not until the other direction has started moving.
And no 'red light' jokes thank you. we're in public you know:p

My bad comes from the early days of internet gaming when (particularly) Japanese kids where playing multi-player gameslike Quake and didn' know how to say 'My Mistake'. Similar reasons for the net-ism 'teh' meaning 'the', etc.

There's a few lollipop sites around my way that are on zebra/pelican crossings, at traffic lights, etc. I, too, could never understand why you'd put two road-crossing facilities at the same place. Maybe it's because drivers don't like to stop for lollipop folk so the lights/crossings give them that extra edge under the highway code. I dunno - just a theory!

If they're behind me I usually stick my fog lights on until they get fed up & overtake. If I'm in a nasty mood & there's nothing coming the other way, I might give them a taste of their own medicine for a while.
But mainly it's the idiots who, on a single carriageway will dip their headlights for oncoming traffic, but as soon as there's a central reservation they seem to think you can't see them.

Über comes from the German language for Super. In English over (as in "overkill"). During the 2000s, über also became known as a synonym for super due to gamers' excessively using the word incorrectly; e.g. über-bright = "super bright," generally with a slightly intensified meaning. Über is commonly written as uber in English, though with slightly different meaning.

Blame Jello Biafra
The Dead Kennedys' 'California Über Alles' (1979/80), lyrical political satire... taking the German 'Deutschland Über Alles' (the German national at the time of Hitler's ascendency) and putting 'California' in its place (because Reagan was governor of California until '76). Common usage of 'über' can be traced back to about then or shortly there after.
I dunno, I defy you to even pronounce the bolded word ;)

Another one today - drivers who beep their horn at you when you do something a little "cheeky" like pull out when there's only just enough time to do so....happened to me earlier when I joined a roundabout as someone was about to exit - I crossed their path with plenty of room (and time) to spare but they still felt the need to beep me.
I've NEVER seen or been involved in a road accident where the collision was immediately preceded by one of the drivers involved beeping their horn like a maniac - presumably because with an impending collision the last thing you'd do is beep your horn, as you're more likely to be concentrating on (or instinctively) braking / swerving etc....
If you have time to think about it and honk your horn, imho there was never any real danger in the first place....

Two of my pet hates;
Drivers who stop to let other drivers pull out or go into somewhere when said drivers would only have to wait a few seconds more for a clear road to open up (there's being courteous and being stupid; I've seen more near accidents almost happen due to this ridiculous behaviour).
Also, drivers who pull out of a side road when you're less than 50 yards away and the road is completely clear behind you.

You've obviously never tried to pull out of the main gate of my work place............ a round about 15 yards to the left, another 100 yards to the right (ish):(
Thing is, if everybody obeyed the highway code and drove sensibly, it would be completely impossible for an accident to occur under the circumstances you described.

Yeah, I got the headlight flash the other day because I pulled in quite late after an overtaking manoeuvre, of course if the guy I was passng hadn't sped up from the stultifying 45 to the allowed-for 70 AS I was passing him it wouldn't've been an issue.

Just thought I'd reiterate this one as there's been a new smattering lately.
What's wrong with adding one or two descriptive sentences?
Why post 'Check this out... www.youtube.guff'> ?? :bang:
I'd be much more inclined to click on an unqualified URL if it said 'I was browsing the web today and came across a fascinating video of the new Pionon XYZ123 being demonstrated in a club environment - see www.whatever" - at least then I'd know whether or not I was going to be interested in the content before wasting a minute of my life waiting for the **** thing to buffer up and get running past the opening credits.
