User Manual Required

I have recently purchased some Source VX150 moving heads,

They work ok and run through the 3 inbuilt programs ok but these programs dont use all the colours or gobos,

I am aware that source have since ceased to exist and as such i am struggling to find a manual for the above. Can you help?

I have downloaded and printed the Futurelight MH-420 manual and although they look identical unfortunatly the instruictions dont work for these units.

Can they be programed via the front panel or are they strictly controller only, if the later is the case what sort of controller is required.

These units are also known as Surepro SP-880/90 OEM moving heads or Funky DaddyOs.

I believe that it's an exact copy of Robe´s XT160 and so the dmx config is very similar.

Specs:
Lamp: MSD 250W / cdmt150w / elc250
X, Y reverse and positive selectable
3 control method: DMX 512, sound activation, master/slave
self correction
7 rotating gobos + open
11 colors + open

They have either 9chn or 13 chn::

DMX 9 CH:
CH1 Pan scan
CH2 X axis 16 Bit
CH3 Tilt scan
CH4 Y axis 16 Bit
CH5 Strobe
CH6 Color + rotate
CH7 Gobo + rotate
CH8 Gobo self-rotation
CH9 Reset by controller
Size: 38x30x41cm
Net Weight: 12kg / 14kg

as for the controller it depends what you want to do.
Sound to light will be fine without a controller (ish).
If you actually want it to do what YOU want then get a ACME / Stairville DMX Master. About £80 from Thomann.de

You mention the Futurelight MH-420 ?? If I am right with the unit types above... the Futurelight MH-420 is nothing like them apart from the look and has totally different channel numbers (i think they are either 6/ 8 channels instead of 9 / 13)

I have been away for quite a while, And i'm sorry I didn't reply sooner.

The information provided was spot on and I hadn't noticed until you said but the Source moving heads actually scroll the word "surepro" accross the display when you power up. I have since purchased a Starville DMX master as per your advice and concidering I had no previous experience of programming I found the Unit very easy to use and achieved some good results, So again many thanks for the lead,
