Have just come down with a bout of pneumonia, which is not good :( anyway, doctor has prescribed some antibiotics and I was instantly curious about having a beer with them as I find little better for getting rid of a cough than a few beers! :beer1: Label says: 'It is unlikely that alcohol will interfere with the antibiotics but there is a chance that side effects will be enhanced with alcohol. As such you should not drink and drive if affected.' So apparantly its ok to drink and drive if you're not affected!:rolleyes:

Having just checked, it's 80mg of alchol per 100ml of blood - so everyone's limit is different. I don't drink and drive at all, not even a pint, as I find that if I have one pint, I'll want another :(

I don't have ANY alcohol when driving either...

...mainly because even if you've only had one drink & are within the limit, your reactions will still be slower than if you were alcohol free...which can be the difference between life & death.

Why take the risk?

I do!:D I don't really drink these days, but I'll sometimes have a bottle early on and softdrinks after that.
If zero tolerance were introduced, I wouldn't even have the one early doors.

I think I've got the best solution to the drink or drive dilema. I simply don't drive! That's what my roadie/"Logistics" chappie gets paid for!

I'd suggest that the vast majority of people either don't drink at all, or have more than one, or drive home before waiting 4-5 hours if they HAVE had just one.

I somtimes have a bottle of bud when I first get to my residency (around 7pm) then it's orange and soda til midnight :( . Driving home at 12:30 I doubt it would even register on a breath tester, but must admit, I'm always a tincey bit nervous if followed by a cop car :eek:

You could drive immediately after drinking a single bottle of beer, unless you had an unusually low tolerance to alcohol. I wouldn't be worried in the slightest, as I would know that (and most importantly) it would have no effect on my ability to drive, and also that it would hardly even register by the time you were breathalised.

What about food. Lets say your clients says help youself to food (which 99% will do anyway), will you then take some food after everyone has taken there share first and eat behind the rig.


I myself don't smoke or drink so I don't have this problem already but at every gig I have done the client and even the guests have said help yourself to the food, so I do, but only when everyone is sitting down. There is too much food to waste so I help them eat it (and i still get tp keep my 10 stone weight :D)

Totally agree though, I only eat when offered and I only go to the table once all the guests have had at least their first helping!

In this situation, I will wait for everyone else to get their food & then go up myself for mine, which I will sit down & eat behind the disco.

I don't see it as a problem.

I've also had quite a few occasions where they don't even ask me, but just bring me a plate with a variety of items on!

As you mentioned, the amount of food which goes into bin bags at the end of the night makes me cringe, so I'm happy to help them eat it when offered!
