Daz's New Van Thread

Here it is.

First van I've ever owned for work, as I've always used trailers, but I've expanded beyond the trailer now, so have bought this.

Nissan Primastar LWB. 103K, but very tidy with electric pack and A/C etc.

I need to get the ply lining re-done though as the stuff in there is very oily.

I am looking at leasing a Vauxhall Vivaro which is the same van different badge lol but i get abit of a discount with my dad's work having alot of lease cars there and my dad having a lease vehicle.

I was looking at Vivaros initially and thought they were too common, eh Shaun? :boxer2: :D I also looked into leasing etc, but decided it was too expensive and not really what I needed at this point in time.

Normal mileage for a company van that is on the road everyday,
So long as the van has been regularly serviced and maintained then mileage isn't a problem, I have spoken to mechanics regarding this and they have said the same thing.

I have just been given a Fiat Chincuchento, No it won't be used for dj'in unless its a walk in walk out job where i need playout only, it is abit of a project for me to do up and get it on the road, it is a K Reg and has 33K on teh clock, i am hoping to get the car into mint condition and then hand it to my brother for when he passes his test (few years yet) but at least he has a low mileage car there for when he does.

Anyway back on thread, Daz you going to be doing removals through the day now with the van seeing as you are the white van man and hated on the roads :P

True, I didn't think about that. My old mans company car has done over 120 miles and its an 04 plate. He got it when the clock said 2 miles. lol

A diesel engine will do over 200K happily. Its the body work that goes the quickest. Looks like a good find Daz.

No... somehow because it's never done more than about 50mph it's a bit sluggish for a 1.9 diesel, even after a service.

Trouble is, when not driving the van I drive a sporty car so I have to think double-hard about pulling out at junctions etc. ;)

Why not get the van sprayed black and have your logo in white with all other infomation and just to add a bit of sparkle why not have the a pattern of the nebula laser or somthing. Lots of little red and green dots???

A normally aspirated diesel is always going to be sluggish and even a turbo diesel if it has to propel a large van and equipment.

However, I would suggest all diesel owners try some Millers Diesel Power Sport 4 in their tanks. It has always worked wonders for my car and van.

Got the van ply lined today and the new security put on. Having a stone chip on the windscreen sorted out tomorrow morning and have bought a few parts that needed replacing on the van, as well as the usual, foot pump, mats, compressor etc etc.

Need to stop spending now!

I can imagine it is a bit of a rush if you hve another job too and I think a trailer would be ideal in that respect. Another pro that you don't have to tax it. But you might have problems finding parking space at some venues and you need to be careful in securing it. Speed limit is 60 mph on a motorway too.
