Ived decided im going to get jobs before schhol, after school and the weekend so that i can save up for better equipment and get a site sorted as well as PAT and PLI.

Its gunna be like paper rounds and car washing at local car wash and a job in a corner shop. About £60 a week.

If i do other side jobs then that can help improve my disco and I dont know when im gunna get another email so when i start these jobs it will go towards advertising as well :D

On a very serious note, and this might sound so cliched and boring - put your studies first! You'll regret it in just a few years time if you don't (unless of course, you make a good go of DJing, but you don't want all your eggs in one basket :))

Agree. Don't skimp on school, as much as you may hate it.

As much any DJ want the best gear or to make there show better this all costs money. My best bet is to look at what you have and make a list. Write down a list of what you need the most to make your show look better. MAby try to make some stuff. My mum made my dj skirt (not me before anybody gets any ideas ;) :D ). I think it looks really good and it only cost about £15 to make aswell. Bargin.


Also don't forget that thats its not about the look of the rig. It does help is everything looks nice and neat but its about how you speak to clients, use of songs and mic work. There is another thread about this all thought all they seem to go about is beat mixing. Its handy to have but not essential as most gigs wont require it. Anyway. :rolleyes: ;) :D .

The best investment you can make (apart from investing in yourself by getting a good education :approve:) is in a website. Get £60 together quickly and get the work coming in, this will be far more rewarding than a paper round! :D

If you are looking to do it on the cheap, a domain name can cost as little as £5.00, mine cost me £10 for 2 years. My hosting costs about £45 per year through: www.telivo.com (http://www.telivo.com) (other hosting is available) MarcJ etc.

Search for free Website templates and read up on creating your own site, that's what I did and I'm really happy with mine, Almost all of my work comes through my site and I don't advertise anywhere else.

Get your site linked to as many free directories as you can to boost your profile....

.....and make sure you pay for MDD membership if you don't already.......eh Daz? :D

All my work at school is going well and they are on the top of my list (espicially BTEC drama - lighting and sound).

Ive got about 5 ideas what to do when I leave school, if one dont go to plan ill try others. And im getting work experiemnce when im 16, sound and light installation and doing the fireworks at Leeds castle (im Maidstone).

This may sound stupid but I got a double devut thing for a fiver as a tempiory measure, it looks really good, im thinking of getting my contact details sown on it in white and put a UV light behind it. Ill post a picture a bit later.

You can get a nice banner printed with your details for about £30.
If you look at my pictures.. you will see it.. lit up with the UV light.

Don't use it for weddings though.
