Hi people.
Can anyone please tell me how many led par 64 lights i would need to light a average dance floor.
I want to use these lights for the first dance, to creat a nice mood feel to the room.
Thanks. :)

I've used 2 of the el-cheapo Thomann Par 56s a few times to light a dancefloor and that was plenty.

Oh right, do you think that the par 64s would be to bright then.

Actually the thomann par 56's are just as bright as the 64,s but the 64's have a tighter focus so the par56 are better as a colour changer than the 64's.

And quite a few of the 64s have more LEDs..

I have just got 4 of these, will be testing them out on Sat night at my residency, thinking about pointing 2 down to dancefloor and 2 up to ceiling to create a nice wash. Will report after the gig (hopefully with pics if I remember my camera). I also got the basic 6 channel controller and tested it last night, works really well, I've assigned 3 colours to 3 seperate faders and can get unlimited colours :D

I wouldn't be pointing them down unlesss they are very high as they can be uncomfortably bright to look at.

I think in a club siutation.. that can be good. it gives more of a visual effect. Although the place I was in last night had them rigged right above the dance floor.. and it didn't really do anything.

But In all other situations I think what you say is spot on.
