Many places sell out of date drinks at reduced prices, never any problems that I know of, but I'm not a legal person.

One of the more extreme illustrations is buying Christmas beers from nearly a year before, and they always taste great.

What about JD Wetherspoon.....they buy beer that's just going out of date and by the bulk load......I see nothing wrong with it...I believe Leffe has active yeast in it...if anything it will make it stronger.....IMO

I was just always under the impression that it was illegal to sell anything out of date in the UK, coming from my time working in retail. When I worked in Asda, anything found out of date was binned, no exceptions - and we were always told the potential penalty should trading standards inspect is up to £1000 per item found.

OK, quick bit of research (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/6676345.stm), and it seems that it isn't illegal to sell out of date food at all - although Trading Standards do have the power to prosecute if they investigate.

Most foods can be safely consumed a while after their best before date.

Even more so for tinned products, which can be fine for many months or even years after their "expiry" date.

I feel you may have had the wrong shade my friend. I much prefer
Brun(ettes) to Blondes, and with Leffe the difference is Stellar ( Did you notice the clever play on beer names there? :D )
