Mornin

Following from a recent thread regarding the Maya 44 USB external sound card I have read that alot of DJ's are using one of these for there laptop output.

I purchased one of these sound cards back last year to run my OTS AV software but have been unable to get a decent sound out of it.
I have tried everything from changing the OTS settings to plugging in different phono leads but nothing seems to work.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong here?

Hi Frankie

I use ots with one of these what do you mead by decent sound? are you using the ASIO drivers?

Mine works fine notable audio Q difference from the standard HP onboard sound max win sound card.

Any more info would help

regards

Thanks for the reply. I dont really know what Im doing wrong, basically my laptop and OTS is recognising the soundcard and I select Maya options from the sound option screen, I then come out of the card into channel number 1 on my mixer but the music comes out too quiet to hear????

I don't use the Maya, but I use an internal creative card, and when trying to route Ots players to the different outputs, the quality just goes. Any ideas?

If you are using the asio drivers go to the asio control panel on the system tray and click on the tag for volume and make your adjustments.

When you go to the set up in ots make sure you have selected the Maya sound card usually the outputs are on 1 and 2

Is it possible that you are still using the windows volume control turn it up to see if that works.

If you installed the asio drivers the asio option should come up in the ots sound card selection process

hope this helps

I got one of these and was told it works with PCDJ but found out it didnt lol so i e-mailed them and recived a phone call 5 min later and he was saying about the usb port on the laptop it dont work with some so suggested getting a usb hub and trying that to which it works now but im not running PCDJ with it. Not sure if this might be your problem the usb port on your laptop.

Thanks a lot lads, just when I've invested my hard earned in what I'm told is one of the best cards on the market, you start a thread on it's problems! Hope you're talking about something totally unconnected with mine.

Don't look to me for advice, I'm just doing as I've been advised! If it all goes mammaries skywards, then I'm going to have to find some synonyms for expletives that will escape the censor.;) :D

Dave ( Dragonfly ) runs a Maya Soundcard together with PCDJ and says its brilliant as I recall.

Speak to him--or maybe he will post.
