Mobile DJ's to pay a Carbon Offset - 1st April 2008
The HM office of Energy has released a consultation paper to SEDA (and other bodies) for feedback. In line with the Kyoto Protocol, Mobile DJ's would be forced to pay a carbon offset fee to mitigate their own greenhouse gases from energy used during a function, it is suggested that a carbon credit system could be administered through a CDM (Clean Development Mechanism) via organisations such as ours and NADJ. Although the fee has not been hinted at, it would depend on power useage, transport, and food used by the operator or DJ and his/her staff at the end of the night.

Please make your views known to the SEDA Chairman Mr J Kidd before it's too late.

It's sometimes evident that even on this forum people draw the wrong conclusions because they either don't fully read what's written or their own opinions/prejudices/panic colour their interpretations ? ;)

I got so annoyed when reading it, that I didn't make it as far as the last bit before posting.

Funnily enough, my post DID suggest it was an April fool, but when I re-read it & saw the end bit I felt a bit of a donut, so deleted my post!

Well, that was a dirty trick, I asked my accountant to close down my disco with the taxman because of that posting.

I have had to take him back on again.

I didnt find it funny at all.
