Update on my Cortex

Well been using this more n more now and its now covering over 70% of music I play. Altho I will not get rid of teh cd decks they are slowely getting used less n less.

Not done any updates to teh unit since it was replaced by Cortex and shes working 100% flawlessly and my confidence is now 100% in using her.

Many thanx to Will and his team for putting up with my ranting and ravings on teh phone to them last year.

Now of to buy another one :):)

Good man, that's what I like to hear.:D Seriously, it ( hopefully ) appears that all the bugs are out of the system, and any problems are from old machines? So far mine's doing just what it should do, I'm beginning to get used to it, though it has only been used once in a "real" disco. As I type this, it's sitting by my right knee in the prototype case, and all cables, drives and keyboards are plugged in and functional. :D :D :D :D ( The first hub I bought was u/s , so inspired total panic! A new one has been great from the off. )

So really the main thing was that if you don't get your ID3 tagging correct the Cortex don't want to know???

Speaking as one of the terminally befuddled, and a class leader at mis tagging MP3's:- Cobblers! String search usually finds most things. The Cortex is very grammatically correct, so any deviation from what's written on the file disallows it. Using less characters in the search ( thus generating more results to search through ) often works best.

Apart from the apostrophe problem---which incidentally appears to be a national problem now accorsing to the BBC---

I have spoken to the company's headquarters in New Jersey to clarify this, and I actually got an answer! They informed me that it's like the word sheep, and the same word is used for the singular AND the plural.

In other words "I'm taking my Cortex out for the first time tonight" could actually refer to one machine OR more than one.

So, having checked with Numark HQ I'm led to believe that the plural of d2 (rememering of course that it's "d-squared" and not "d-two") is expressed as an equation. For example, if you were to take out two d2 units, you'd say "I'm taking my (2*d2) out tonight" ;)
