Hi Folks
Im still getting my head round to programming the DMX Master.
I notice it has a fog machine control function. Has anyone got this working?
Im always trying to compact my rig and if i could junk the fog controller and have it work off the DMX control then that would be great.
The output on the DMX for fog machine is what i call a 5 pin din round socket.
The connection on my fog machine is an xlr however ive not seen such a lead to 5 pin din, let alone know what the wiring order would be.
Your help would be greatly appriciated

The first thing to check is that your fog machine is actually DMXable?
If it is.. you would want to look at something like this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Adaptor-DMX-XLR-3-Pin-Male-to-5-Pin-Female_W0QQitemZ370057026396QQcmdZViewItem?hash=it em370057026396&_trkparms=72%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C65%3A12&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
Although I wouldn't buy it from Ebay. It was just an easy example.

Hi thanks for the reply.
I dont think the round five pin socket on the DMX Master is a DMX socket. It looks more like the old five pin din audio type you used to get years ago on hifi equipment and its a female.
I think i will have a search for a suitable lead and give it a try, whats the worst that can happen.

It's a 5 pin dmx. Terralec sell the 5 pin dmx ends (http://www.terralec.co.uk/audio_connectors/male_xlr_5_pin_metal/17429_p.html). I'm not sure how you wire it but I'm pretty sure Terralec will be able to make you up a 5 pin to 3 pin dmx cable on request. It may cost you a few quid extra but they're pretty good at accommodating requests.

It is a 5 pin din socket. Not sure how is wired up.But it will only work on some fog machines. It has nothing to do with dmx

Maybe I'm getting confused with the 5 pin DMX cables that are used for the basic controller connections on my iLead DMX controller.
