Impossibleds-CA-8 or not

I have 2 Impossibleds and think that they are far and away the happiest ligfhts I have ever used on a CA-8 controller.
I currently have all my other lights on a dmx mixer and couldn't get to sleep last night for thinking if it's really worth spending the time putting them in the sequence(sad I know).So my question is really do most of you guys have yours by dmx controller and..............................How did we ever do shows without them:thumbs_up:

I'm not gonna start with my opinions on the CA-8 (CA-8=:mad:) as i don't want to start the same argument again:bang: so too keep it short and sweet i think it would be better to add them to a show using a proper DMX controller (virtual or not)

I use the CA-8 currently for my impossibleds, and I'm more than happy with the functionality. However, if you have the time to program some scenes via your DMX controller I'd say go for it. I hope to do the same thing soon too.

I use a CA8 for my impossibled and I have a full DMX desk for most other effects.

I'm quite happy with the inbuilt programs and it's only used for faster dances. It's usually angled such that I can't easily read the LED display. The CA8 lets me switch it on and off and step through the programs easily.

That's exactly what I use mine for and for £25 you can't really go wrong.

Maybe argument was the wrong word. what about heated discussion:D Even so i don't think I'll go down that route again (gave me a headache last time:()

It's just that I've found that the CA-8 has been pretty ropey ane erratic for all of my DMX lights EXCEPT the Impossibleds.I find that the show is great on them and,like others,like the flexibility of having them on a CA-8.Now.........if there was an option to have the impossibleds on CA-8 (for quickness and on-off) AND DMX(for control of colours etc) then that would be perfect:)

I use ca-8 on impossibleds when I want a bit of control for them. However I do not bother for dynamos and dynarocks.

Could you not link the dynamos into one CA-8 controller along with the ImpossiLED or am i being silly now :P

Coil it up, put a bit of velcro on and leave as much length as you need. That's what I do. :)

If you feel like you can do it, why not cut the cable at the right lengh for you then fit a 1/4 jack.

I will be doing this on my two as they are way to long and I won't be getting anything bigger than a 4ft deck stand anyway. If you use trussing then I would leave it, but it's up to you. :)

I would do this but it's a very thin cable and I wasn't sure if it was just a standard stereo 1/4" jack (although it look like it) - Does anyone know.

I could coil it up but I'd rather have it at a more managable length.

I am running my impossibleds with a CA-8 also whilst my other stuff is with a DMX desk. Had a quick try putting the impossibleds on the DMX desk but didn't have the time to mess about so gave up as I am happy with the built in programs and it is another thing that would need programming.

I have been running 2 impossibled's from a CA-8 for a while and have been quite happy. But I have just recently started to do some dmx programming with them as I wanted some more subtle effects for 1st dances etc. I have programmed some nice white "twinkly" chases and a nice slow blue / white chase. I think it will take some time to programme all the scenes and chases that I want but I believe it will be worth it in the end.

You can set them to "stand alone" using a dmx controller too, so after the 1st dance at a wedding I would probably let them do their own thing.
