Ultimax Stand Wheel Base

I was thinking about buying a set of wheels for my ultimax deck stand.Does anyone else have wheels fitted to there ultimax stand?

Are they any good\help?

I have a couple of pairs on 2 stands.

There is one thing you must make sure of before you buy - that the castors and brakes are the newer type.

They replaced the older ones last year some time and they make a big difference. The older wheels are smaller and easier to break (I did, don't ask!) and the brakes are plastic and keep falling off and getting lost. The newer wheels are bigger, metal and have the brakes attached so they don't fall off.

Generally, they are a good idea, as you can start setting things up outside a venue if the function is over running and then just wheel the stand in. Saves a lot of time.

Funny you should mention them, I had a set delivered yesterday. Very sturdy and very good quality (as you'd expect from Ultimax). They even supplied the allen key for attaching them...which I thought was a nice touch.

*Edit: The image you posted are the old type, they now have a new and improved version that comes as 4 separate wheels.

I've got them on my winch stand gary and wouldn`t be without them, makes it so much easier when setting up, couple of times set up outside the room as they were running late, just wheeled in wound up winches plonked speakers down and connected them, job done and up and running in under 10 mins, venue staff was dancing away clearing the tables while we sound checked.

They can be a bit difficult to move on carpet if you have a heavy loaded stand, but someone pullin and someone pushing and it's no bother.

As Shaun said they are sturdy and adds a bit off weight espesially if you carry your stand about in the ultimax gig bag, they kind of stick out the bag if you leave them attached to your stand ends (for quickness) as well so you cant get the bag done up right, not really a big problem, just have to be carefull when loading and unloading
